Lemont High School Boys Golf Qualifies for State

Fourth Place Finish at IHSA Class 2A Championship

The Lemont High School boys golf team has qualified for the 2022 IHSA Class 2A State Championship. The team, led by head coach Mark Hollatz, placed fourth at the sectional qualifier held at the Weibring Golf Club at Illinois State University.

After finishing the first day of competition tied for eighth place, the Lemont boys rallied to secure their spot at the state tournament. The team's strong performance was led by the impressive play of Eddie Scott, who is the 2023 Herald-News Player of the Year.

"We knew it was close," said coach Hollatz. "The boys played their hearts out and I'm so proud of them for what they've accomplished this season."

This marks the 11th time that the Lemont boys golf team has qualified for the state championship. The team's success is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the players and their coach.
